The Buttery nose is part of the easternmost part of the Strandzha mountain, which is inward into the sea. It is located near the town of Primorsko, surrounded by huge golden beaches. It has been inhabited since ancient times - at the place where Ropotamo is cut into the Strandzha slopes, the ancient city of Ranuli was built on the huge rocks sculptured by the river. At the mouth of the river are the remains of a Roman city. At the very end of the nose are still the walls of the fortress Terra, guarding this beach. In XIII-XIV century, the port of Siva is situated on the nose.
Much of the Buttery nose is included in the protected area of the same category as the "natural landmark".
